(this page will likely be updated as time goes on! atm this is simply a quick rundown of the timeline)infinite and moth first met shortly before the war - a chance encounter in which neither spoke but merely exchanged glances; one intimidated, and one meant to intimidate. after sonic was defeated, moth quickly joined the resistance and soon found themself up against infinite once more, in multiple different battles. they were never able to defeat him, but they were usually able to escape mostly unscathed. after the war ended, infinite disappeared, and moth returned home.one day, while moth was relaxing outside, they heard a strange noise from within the forest and went to investigate. they quickly found infinite, mortally wounded due to the phantom ruby imploding within his chest and weakened, yet surprisingly somehow alive. despite the jackal's protest, moth took him in and bandaged his wounds. over the course of a few months, infinite lived in moth's home in secret, with them nursing his injuries and helping him get back on his feet. she was confused; why would someone who was once his enemy care for him like this? after all she did? she could hardly fathom the concept... but as time went on, his feelings towards them began to shift.while the beginning of their time together was spent squabbling, the two eventually began to bond and a friendship bloomed. slowly but surely, infinite let moth in, becoming more vulnerable. as for moth, they showed him a side of them he hadn't really gotten to see: their true self, outside of battle. at some point, infinite's feelings towards them once again shifted to something more... something romantic. the same could be said for moth, though they didn't fully realize it.after a while of living together as friends, with infinite's wounds healing and becoming stronger by the day, moth joined the restoration efforts. quickly growing tired of the loneliness, infinite soon asked to join them. they were hesitant at first, being afraid of the reaction that the news of infinite being alive and well would cause. however, moth decided to go through with it, knowing the news had to come out at some point. the reaction wasn't exactly fantastic, but moth's friends trusted their judgement and decided to give infinite the benefit of the doubt while keeping an eye on her.the two worked in the restoration together as a team. each of their feelings for the other grew over time, before infinite soon cracked and confessed during one of their missions. reciprocating her feelings, the two began dating.in the present ship timeline, they still work in the restoration and live a sweet domestic life in the forest of cirrus grove.
my sun, my sunspot, my eclipse, what can i say about infinite that will fully incapsulate how much i love her?? i havent technically been a 'sonic fan' for very long, but ive known infinite since her debut in forces in 2017.. it feels like falling in love with her was meant to be in a way, with how i continued to periodically think about him when i considered getting more into the series.shes become a huge comfort to me, being here for me as i navigate both my identity and difficulties with chronic illness. shes probably one of the f/os i talk about the most irl - my gf makes jokes about my love for him (in a good way!)he really does mean the world to me - i love her so much!!! 🩷🩷
taking place after 06 was scrubbed from the timeline, completely reset, mephiles is trapped in a space adjacent to reality, unable to connect with his other half - iblis - or do anything about it.moth connected to the realm where mephiles was imprisoned by accident while dreaming one night. they'd thought it still was a dream - opening their eyes to see only darkness... except for the other's figure a few yards away. they conversed with him, trying to figure out who he was, why he felt so familiar... but forgot to ask his name. they continued to see him in their dreams, but they always woke up before they could ask who he was.mephiles took note of them - they were the only other thing he was able to make contact with for years, and he wanted to take advantage of that.over time, they began to get to know bits and pieces about each other - though most of what mephiles told moth was lies. he began to plant the idea of moth using their powers to free him into their head, which eventually culminating in them going through with it. mephiles was freed - but at a cost: her powers were drastically reduced, making him much less of a threat.unable to draw from her powers and unable to reconnect with iblis, they resigned themself to living with moth, essentially becoming moth's strange eldritch roommate.
